Makers and Engineers

Architects, Builders, and Developers   Makers, Engineers, and Inventors   Planners, Planters, and Landscapers   Math and Physics, etc.   Comprehensive PDF

The sets of links below take engineers directly to the pages (and corresponding PDFs) relevant to their particular fields – a classification structure that wild-haired makers and inventors will have to use. Section (and page) numbers follow in a prioritized order, with section titles listed at the end of this page for quick reference.

As stated in the code by field intro, context is missing by going straight to the example of your application’s guiding pattern, but hopefully enough interest will be piqued to seek the underlying reasoning in the relevant part intro, or even the entire code sequence. Beware that judging field applicability by the simplicity of their examples may shortchange the immense variation intrinsic to their guiding patterns.

Engineering categories are civil, mechanical, aerospace, naval architecture, electrical, agricultural, and solar. Along with a bit of overlap, exchangeability is a fact of code use. As transporter modes arise from one template, designers may seek to shape their ideas from other fields. E.G., car door ideas are found in ship design.
